While obese clients have reported impressive results with gastric band hypnotherapy, some medical experts are skeptical of any technique that implies just "thinking" about something can solve a problem. However "thinking" at the conscious level and using hypnosis to "imagine the results" at the subconscious level are two entirely different notions, as any successful athlete will attest. Gastric Band Hypnotherapy is a Weight Loss Solution for Obesity
Practitioners feel the treatment is most successful with those who are fully committed and motivated to change their lifestyle. Many criteria are used to qualify clients for the treatment, as not all obese persons are suitable candidates. For example, those suffering thyroid or bulimia issues would not qualify, nor would those not fully committed to dietary changes and not at the BMI of at least 25. Medical clearance is mandatory before an obese person is considered for the program and practitioners make every effort to provide the support and advice clients may need to ensure long-term success.
